Product Q&A
Frequently asked Questions about OnGuard 225S Safety Glasses
What makes the OnGuard 225 unique?
There are many special features that make the OnGuard 225S quality safety glasses for industrial uses. Integrated side shields help the wearer protect their eyes from both the front and sides without needing to purchase a separate attachment. Adjustable nose pads and temples keep the glasses snug on the face, allowing for a customized, snug fit. A replaceable dust dam at the top of the frame prevents dust from getting inside.
These glasses feature a six base curvature, which is ideal for high prescriptions and allows the glasses to fit flat to the face. The frame is made from trogamid nylon, and all materials used to make these glasses are nonconductive.
Does the OnGuard 225s meet safety standards?
OnGuard 225S prescription safety glasses are safety rated and meet safety ratings for both the ANSI Z87.1 and the CSA Z94.3. By being ANSI Z87.1 certified eyewear, these glasses are OSHA approved and proven to provide adequate protection from particles, impact, sharp objects and more.
The CSA Z94.3 rating applies to face protectors used for both educational and industrial purposes. To pass, glasses have to withstand common hazards in the workplace including radiation, molten metal, heat, sparks, chemicals, and flying particles. A variety of test methods are used to determine if the protective eyewear meets these qualifications and is fit for hazardous work environments.
What sizes are available for the OnGuard 225s?
There are three basic size options available when purchasing the OG225S. The small frame size features a lens width of 55 millimeters, a bridge size of 15 millimeters, and a temple size of 120 millimeters. The medium has a 57-millimeter lens width, 16-millimeter bride size, and a temple size of 135 millimeters. The large size has a 61-millimeter wide lens, a 17-millimeter wide bridge, and a 135-millimeter wide temple.
To choose the right size eyewear, use a ruler to measure the distance between both temples and the width of the nose bridge. You also check the side of the frames or on the bridge of the nose to find the size of your current glasses.
